SCHOOL TO SCHOOL SUPPORT
Five Rivers Teaching School Alliance works closely with its professional partners to ensure that school to school support is available for schools no matter what their circumstances are. We have a number of NLEs, LLEs and SLEs who can be deployed to support schools in a wide range of different areas.
Through effective deployment of experienced National Leaders of Education, Local Leaders of Education and Specialist Leaders of Education we ensure that experienced educators use their knowledge of current research and their hands-on experience of working within schools to promote sustainable school-led system of self-improvement.
Please contact us if you wish to discuss brokerage of school to school support.
INITIAL TEACHER TRAINING
Five Rivers Teaching School Alliance supports ITT partners across the North to deliver effective School Based Initial Teacher Training which helps trainees develop a firm foundation in education and supports them to become the best possible teacher they can be.
Throughout the training year, working closely with a range of ITT providers, we offer a programme that has been designed by current and outstanding teachers. They are experts in their field and have mapped out a course that is exciting, innovative and manageable.

We are currently collaborating on a School Strategic Improvement Fund Project with seven schools across Sheffield.
The aim of the project is to embed the use of grammar in KS2 pupils’ writing by providing contextualised grammar teaching rather than teaching grammar in the abstract. This teaches children to enhance how their writing communicates with the reader by teaching grammar for meaning rather than simply pointing out grammatical inaccuracies.
